Winnipeggers commemorate 1945 Hiroshima-Nagasaki atomic bombings

Winnipeg Lanterns for Peace is held annually to mark the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. This year’s observance, held at Memorial Park on August 6th, the 81st anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, was sponsored by the Japanese Cultural Association of Manitoba, Mennonite Central Committee (Manitoba), Peace Alliance Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends.
