March 17 — Cross Canada Day of Action

With the additions last week of Fredericton, Red Deer, Whistler, Midland, Annapolis Royal, Thunder Bay, St John and Halifax, there are now 30 events planned for March 17.

Events organized by the Peace Alliance Winnipeg in the week of March 12 to 17.

TUESDAY, MARCH 13, 7 p.m. “WHY WE FIGHT” award winning documentary about American foreign policy.

Plus Winnipeg folk singer Kate Rachel-Jean

Winnipeg Press Club, 331 Smith St., Ramada Marlborough Hotel, Lower Level.

THURSDAY, MARCH 15, 7 p.m.: “Afghanistan: Is this Canada’s War?” A debate with Henry Heller, Professor of Modern History at the University of Manitoba and Dr. James Fergusson, Director of the Centre for Defence and Security Studies.

SATURDAY, MARCH 17: On the Fourth Anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq the Peace Alliance Winnipeg participates in the Cross Canada Day of Action with two events:

12:30 p.m. Legislature: March Against the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan – Canadian Troops Out Now!

2 p.m. Broadway Disciples United Church (Broadway and Kennedy): Following the march there will be a panel discussion with Lesley Hughes (journalist), Cindy McCallum (National Director, Prairie Region Canadian Union of Postal Workers) and Dr. Khelil Assil.

END the wars of occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan!

BRING Canadian and US troops home immediately!

REJECT the Canada-US military partnership!
